Psychotherapy & Coaching

Do you long to live more vividly and meaningfully? Are you hungry for authentic connections?

“Margo’s insights and guidance have given me a new perspective on self-care and what it means to live a more whole and balanced life. I’d recommend woking with her to anyone!” —CW

Are you struggling with depression, anxiety or are you transitioning through a major life event? Developing skills to navigate life’s many transitions can help us process and move beyond difficult feelings. Perhaps you are eager for new friends or a new partner? Sometimes life has to fall apart before we're ready to seek a new path. You need courage to let go of what no longer works, and that’s where I can help.

What to expect from a therapy session? Our first step is to talk about what you want to accomplish in therapy. Aware of your goals, which may evolve over time, we can explore current challenges along with childhood experiences that may still be impacting you. Learning to become more present to your vulnerabilities, and skillful in managing them, your self-efficacy and happiness will grow.

What to expect from a couples therapy session?
After our initial meeting, I will meet with each of you individually in the first few weeks of therapy. Then together we will define your goals and create a plan for helping you both develop skills, resolve conflicts, develop greater understanding and move in the direction your goals. With new capacity to hear and be heard, you will have greater range of communication and connection with your partner.

What to expect from family therapy and divorce coaching? ‍ ‍I work with a variety of family relationships as well as couples who want support in a more conscious separation and divorce process.

‍ ‍“Margo meets me where I am at, and supports me as I process life’s woes. I feel seen and cared for in every session. I always leave feeling more confident and grounded in who I am as an individual.”

Unconditional positive regard is at the center of my practice, and I am passionate about helping clients cultivate personal power to become fully self-expressed.

My eclectic approach includes Cognitive Therapy, EMDR for trauma processing, Polyvagal Nervous SystemTheory, Motivational Interviewing, DBT, inner child work, art therapy and mindfulness practices. I help many clients recognize the role of self-abandonment and shame—the first step for becoming securely self-attached. I coach clients in cultivating a more loving inner parent who can counteract the background noise of the inner critic.

There is a different lens with the life coaching work, allowing me to hear the key promises, offers, requests and declarations that inform my clients lives—pointing them to new more powerful actions. Ontological Coaching also works with body dispositions as a method for calling forth new ways of being in the world to help you achieve your goals.

With training and experience in psychotherapy, social work and ontological coaching, I work effectively with a broad range of issues and people from many different socioeconomic, cultural and religious backgrounds. I am a skilled empathic listener who will work with you collaboratively and creatively. I am honored to have helped many people create the change they seek in order to cultivate more fulfilling lives.
